Bookings for Tea at The George can only be made at least 24 hours in advance of the date and time of the booking. This is because all the items on the menu are made in house to a high standard and the chefs require notice and cater for dietary requirements.
Bookings can be made through our website and social media through The Fork booking system.
We work on a seated basis and therefore each person in the Tea Room must have booked an Afternoon Tea. We do not allow people to accompany who do not wish to have an Afternoon Tea.
Little Persons Afternoon Teas – Children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult who also is required to have an Afternoon Tea too.
Group bookings are any bookings over 6 people. We can cater for a wide variety of events including birthday parties, baby showers, hen dos and any other special occasion. We can also cater for private functions therefore should you be interested in booking in a group of you or hiring the room please email firstname.lastname@example.org who will be able to assist with your enquiry.
Upon booking with us directly you will be sent a credit card guarantee link and an email to confirm this has been sent to you via our Fork system. If this link has been missed passed the time your booking will not be confirmed into our reservations system and therefore this is something we cannot take responsibility for as we do not get notified of a missed link by our customer.
We have a strict policy as the quality of the food that is produced is all handcrafted all catered for individual dietary requirements and takes time the kitchen time to prepare. Therefore once the booking has been made we do not issue cancellations or refunds for Afternoon Tea. If the party or one or more members of the group need to to rearrange your booking for a particular reason we require at least 48 hours notice and then can rearrange the booking for an alternative date and time. This is subject to availability on the new date. If you can not make the booking and have told us less than 48 hours prior we cannot move your booking or transfer it to another date.
No shows- should you not attend or show up to your booking then we are at liability to charge the original booking at full cost on the card used during the booking process.
Being diagnosed with Covid-19 is not a reason we accept for a last minute cancellation as it is now a foreseeable risk like any other illness.
If you have any other requirements for your booking including dietaries please ensure we have this at least 48 hours prior to the reservation as if we are not informed we may not be able to cater for this e.g. Nut allergy.
